Tradition YCAC (Yokohama Country and Athletic Club) have consistently been one of the tournaments top performers for the past six years and are one of the favourites to win the Cup this year. Since 2013, YCAC have reached the Cup finals in 2014, 2015 and 2018 and have made the Cup semis on the other three occasions.

In 2018, YCAC were flawless in the group stage, putting up 74 points in three matches and not conceding a single point. On knockout day, YCAC

carried on the momentum to defeat Pyrenees and Penguins in two close encounters en route to a final showdown with Cup holders UBS Gavekal.

YCAC quickly went down 12-0 before fighting back to 17-17, but were undone by a last-minute try. Now this year, they will again bid to lift the Bill Burgess Cup, which has so far proved elusive for a squad usually made up almost exclusively of New Zealanders
