Taikoo Place Scottish Exiles are back this year after bouncing back from two losses in 2018 pool stages
by winning all three of their knockout games to claim the third-tier Bowl. In their first six appearances, Exiles were a fixture in the top half of the competition, even reaching the Cup semis in 2015.
Hong Kong Scottish rugby football club was formed
in April 2011. The HKRFU set up a new premiership team with the support of London Scottish, adopting their badge and sharing their colours (blue, white and red) as a mark of that relationship. They made its first appearance at the Melrose 7s – the birthplace of Rugby Sevens represented by a largely invitational side, predominantly featuring rugby players of Scottish
ancestry playing in Hong Kong.
The Exiles are again mainly made up of players from Hong Kong Scottish and other local Premiership clubs. However, this year’s squad also features players from Hong Kong’s Elite Rugby Programme.
The Scottish side have had a good run in the domestic league and show flashes of brilliance in their attacking style. This exciting brand of rugby has landed them into the semi finals against league winners HKFC however Scottish getting the better of the league winners in their last bout.
