Natixis HKFC approached this year’s Tradition HKFC 10s with quiet confidence after already securing the domestic SEWIT premiership league title.
The hosts are the oldest team in the competition, founded over 130 years ago boasting a wealth of history.
This year with a new kiwi coach in Logan Asplin they look a dangerous side with threats across the board. Logan brings a new style along with some quality imports from his own hometown in Hamilton, New zealand one notably Mason Tupaea, younger brother of current All Black centre, Quinn Tupaea. Mason has had a great first season with the club as well as NZ
schoolboy player Mathew Dobbyn and new arrival Scotland 7s flyer Freddie Owsley who has played
at the top level back in Europe under Bristol Bears and Edinburgh Rugby. These new additions slot well into an already strong, exciting team with notable HK national stars. Captain Tommy Hill brings size and power to go alongside attacking threats such as Jamie Lauder, Penetana Smith and club legend Jamie Hood gaining his 100th HKFC earlier this season.
With all these threats could it be the hosts’ year to win their first HK10s trophy!
