East African RFC make a return to the competition as loyal members making it the teams 6th appearance in the Hong Kong 10s. After a sensational 2018 campaign in which they almost beat eventual champions Gavekal before losing 10-7 in the pool stage, also drawing 12-12 with eventual Plate finalists A-Trade Overseas Old Boys.

East Africans then beat Irish Vikings and Tigers on their way to the Bowl final, their highest finish having reached the semis of the third tier in their first two appearances. Could this be their year to grab some silverware.
